Well, Alex and I have been very busy making the final touches on both "The American Boyfriend" and "Lake Effect." I intended to have a "Lake Effect" trailer prepared for this week, but it looks like I will be far too busy with sound editing. Music and sound mixing are our big concerns right now. Does anyone know of any musicians that would like to contribute to our projects? We are looking for John hughes synth type music--touching, but not too corny.
Anyway, in Lieu of a trailer, here is a brief sample of "Lake Effect" without music and without subtitles. Sorry ;( TT
Within two weeks we will have specific screening times and places of both films. Thanks,
Hello. I am a Film Student at Grand Valley State University. I am mainly interested in making connections with people of similar professional interests. Eventually I will have samples of my work posted on this blog site. John Grierson coined the term "documentary" and defined the form as an "artistic representation of reality." This term applies to my form of narrative. I believe the art of recording and editing reality can be distinguished from an entirely different art form that may utilize the same technology. Set design and animation are both aspects that are unrelated to my brand of cinema. I desire to make film with the attitude that reality is sacred. Cinema essentially places an audience in a different historical context. Every frame represents a particular moment in time. I associate myself with a film movement that seeks to entertain, inform, or inspire by means of representing reality. I am not; however, discrediting animation or fantastic cinema. I am only pointing out my particular paradigm of interest so that I can develop relationships with the appropriate people to collaborate with.
